Gifts from the Sea will be among the new work shown at Sarasota Orchestra Harmony Gallery for Jo-Ann Golenia's solo show, Mona Lisa. A delightful new grouping of works will welcome art lovers at the Opening Reception, April 6, 2010, 5 - 6:30 pm. Sarasota Orchestra, Beatrice Friedman Symphony Center, 709 North Tamiami Trail Sarasota, FL, 34236, show dates: April 2 - 29, 2010. The Gallery is free and open to the public during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

FORM AND FIBER

A NEW TWIST ON ART QUILTS AND CERAMICS

This one of a kind collection of fresh, new fiber art and imaginative ceramic pieces will open to the delight of central east coast Florida art lovers in the Tequesta, Florida area. Jo-Ann Golenia and Pat Kumicich will be showing their original fiber paintings in conjunction with the Ceramics League of the Palm Beaches. The show runs from February 11, 2010 through March 27, 2010 with an Opening Reception February 18 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Lighthouse Center for the Arts, 373 Tequesta Dr, Tequesta, FL, Sun: 10 am- 2 pm, Mon-Sat: 10 am-4:30 pm.

500 Art Quilts, a brand new book by Lark Books, will premier in Spring, 2010. It is described; "A vibrant and growing community of crafters has embraced quilting, and this outstanding international collection will inspire and captivate them. Juried by Karey Bresenhan, one of the most prominent figures in quilting, it presents 500 magnificent contemporary art quilts, made in fabric and other media, and showcasing diverse designs, materials, and techniques. From their very inception, these quilts were destined for display rather than practical use, with an extraordinary quality of image, form, line, and composition."

ARTS TICKET BOOK - SARASOTA, MANATEE and CHARLOTTE COUNTIES

    2009 Sarasota Magazine & Gulfshore Life have awarded their Arts Ticket Book cover art for the two county groups in Florida. The ArtsTicket Book is formatted to be a flip book – one side includes coupon offers for art venues in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte County area subscribers, and the other includes Naples & Fort Myers. The Sarasota side was awarded to Jo-Ann Golenia with Going Home on the cover. The Ticket Book is distributed to some 27,500 subscribers as well as through three sponsoring arts organizations.
